Most customers report fifteen to twenty minutes on a second pitch. First pitch usually takes a bit longer because you're learning where the wall ring sits. The 3m is fastest. The 5m takes longer mainly because you've got more guy ropes to peg out, not because it's harder.

You don't need a second person for any size up to the 5m. Customers in their 70s have told us they pitched solo without issue.

Yes. The canvas is waterproofed, the groundsheet is sewn in and zipped to the walls, and the seams are taped. We've had customers in the Lakes, Cornwall, and Wales pitch through full weekends of rain without leaks.

Cotton canvas behaves differently to polyester — it's more breathable, less prone to condensation, and the first heavy rain "seasons" the seams. If you get caught in a downpour on the first night, that's actually doing the tent a favour.

Yes, if you pick the right fabric. Fire Cotton (360gsm) is our heaviest, fire-treated canvas and ships with a pre-installed stove flap. You'll need to source and fit your own stove and flashing kit — we don't sell stoves — but the tent itself is built for autumn and winter use.

Polycotton and Pure Cotton can take a stove too, but you'll need to install your own flap and flashing kit, which is more involved. If winter use is the goal, Fire Cotton is the right starting point.

3m: sleeps two adults comfortably, or one adult and two small kids.
4m: sleeps four — typically two adults on a double, two kids on roll mats.
5m: sleeps six-plus. Two double beds and a single fits with room to walk around.
6m and 7m: group trips, hosted glamping pitches, weddings.

The honest version: customers regularly tell us their 4m or 5m is more spacious than they expected. The shape and the standing-height ceiling make a big difference compared to a typical dome tent.

Oxford Ultralight (100gsm): polyester-based. Lightest, cheapest, fastest to dry. Best for summer, festivals, kids' garden tents, first-time campers. Not stove-compatible. Our best-selling fabric.

Polycotton (285gsm): cotton-poly blend. Robust, breathable, more durable than Oxford. Mixed-season use.

Pure Cotton (285gsm): 100% cotton. Naturally insulating, regulates temperature, has the premium hand-feel customers like for garden use. Heavier and slower to dry.

Fire Cotton (360gsm): heaviest fabric, fire-treated, comes with a stove flap pre-installed. Built for all-season and serious winter use.

If you'll camp once or twice a year, Oxford. Three or more, step up to Polycotton or Pure Cotton. Year-round, Fire Cotton.

Repacking takes patience. It's the one thing our customers consistently flag as fiddly the first time. The trick is to fold along the seams and roll tightly — once you've done it once, it goes back in the bag fine.

For storage between trips: dry the canvas completely before putting it away, store somewhere ventilated. Cotton tents shouldn't go away damp or they'll mildew. If you've packed it up wet at a festival, unpack and air it within 24 hours of getting home.

Fourteen days from delivery, unused and in original packaging. Pitch it in the garden first if you want to check the size — that's fine, just keep the bag and pegs intact. If it's been used at a festival, that's not a returnable condition.

Manufacturing faults are covered for a full year. If anything's wrong out of the box, message us with a photo and we'll resolve it quickly.
